William Nguyen
William completed his Master of Physiotherapy degree at McMaster University, following his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. As a dedicated family man with three children, William understands firsthand how busy life can get and how easy it is to put self-care on hold. This perspective drives his compassionate and practical approach to physiotherapy, helping patients recover efficiently and get back to doing what they love most.
He chose physiotherapy because of his passion for people, healthcare, and problem-solving. With 10+ years of experience, William finds great fulfillment in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, and in guiding patients through every stage of recovery, from injury and post-surgical rehab to long-term maintenance and healthy aging. He believes that while our bodies change with time, we can always rebuild, strengthen, and optimize function at any stage of life.
Outside of the clinic, William enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling with his wife and kids, and watching MMA.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I enjoy treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, with a particular interest in helping patients recover from shoulder and lower back injuries. I take a holistic approach, recognizing that the body is interconnected, and often address surrounding joints and postural patterns to achieve long-term improvement. I also enjoy working with patients dealing with upper postural issues, elbow, wrist, knee, and ankle conditions.
What should I expect in your session?
My sessions typically include a mix of hands-on manual therapy, exercise prescription, and education. I aim to empower patients with the knowledge and tools they need to manage their symptoms effectively outside of therapy. Treatments may also include modalities such as laser, TENS, shockwave, cupping, acupuncture or taping when appropriate.
What are you proud of in your practice?
I’m proud to have helped many patients return to work, sports, and daily life after significant injuries. I also take pride in recognizing and triaging complex cases that require urgent medical attention, such as detecting and referring patients with deep vein thrombosis for immediate care. For me, physiotherapy isn’t just about movement; it’s about helping people regain confidence, independence, and peace of mind.
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
I take an evidence-based approach to treatment, combining clinical experience with current research to provide care that is both effective and individualized. Every patient’s journey is different, and I strive to adapt my methods to fit each person’s unique presentation, preferences, and goals. I believe there’s often more than one way to reach a solution, so I always take my patients’ preferences into account when developing a treatment plan. My goal is to guide and support them while allowing them to take an active role in their recovery. In essence, I may be the driver of their care, but they help navigate the journey.
